Field of Study:

Agricultural Engineering; Universidad de Viña Del Mar

"Since I was a child, I grew up watching my father and uncles work the land, which sparked in me a deep connection with agriculture and the value it holds for daily life in Rapa Nui. This early experience led me to study at a school with various technical fields, including Agricultural Technician, and subsequently to decide on Agricultural Engineering. During the years 2023, 2024, and 2025 at the University, I have gained a comprehensive understanding of agronomic systems, strengthening my educational goals and my desire to contribute to my community.

I am passionate about agronomy because it combines science, technique, and a sense of social responsibility. I am motivated to understand how to produce food efficiently and sustainably, especially in an island territory where the availability of resources is a constant challenge. Each subject and practical experience has reaffirmed to me that this is the path where I can make a real contribution.

In the future, I plan to use my training to contribute to the well-being of the Rapa Nui people by improving agricultural and livestock production systems. I want to apply sustainable practices, such as proper soil use, crop diversification, and the implementation of technologies to optimize performance with low environmental impact. I also hope to support small-scale farmers and community initiatives, promoting food security and strengthening local autonomy. My ultimate goal is to contribute to the sustainable development of Rapa Nui, while preserving its identity and respecting the territory."
