"I have always been known for my passion for knowledge, which has lead me to strive for continual learning in areas of interest related to my current professional career, always preferring highly demanding environments where I have .public investment; the development of plans, programs, and public policies; and knowledge of the practical application of public policy through technical assistance. All of this has led me to the need to provide better service to the people of Rapa Nui, internally and externally, with the knowledge that is appropriate for this purpose.
Initially, this meant following my mother's advice, but during my professional development, a number of factors have made me realize that the profession is flexible and not rigid. When faced with problems raised by users or staff at the institution to which I belong, I can find solutions from a creative perspective in a wide range of areas, without limiting myself to the public sphere. It is undoubtedly a fascinating profession. It is a way in which it is possible to help people through technical knowledge, which requires mental agility and ongoing training in the face of regulatory changes."
From a practical point of view, in my profession, I have had the opportunity to assist the Rapa Nui people in a number of areas from a public perspective, including, of course, maintaining communication regarding the needs raised with the central government authorities; providing assistance in the implementation of the so-called Ley de Residencia (Law N°21,070); actively participating in public investment projects on the island; advising Rapa Nui authorities on the adoption of the best policy decisions, among other matters that have ultimately led to improvements in the implementation of one of the most important public services at the island level."
