One of the classes I would like to highlight from 2024 is “Clínica Integral del adult III-IV,” as it allowed me to perform more complex procedures that closely resemble the reality I will face when practicing my profession. Additionally, I was able to be more autonomous in my practice and establish good relationships with new professors and classmates. Another course I would like to highlight is “Special Needs I-II,” which was a course that allowed me to understand realities that are often hidden. In our country, 18% of the population has some type of disability, which makes it crucial to understand and learn about the different tools available to provide care for them, ensuring they are never overlooked or denied attention. The knowledge and skills I developed in these courses will be essential for helping my Rapa Nui community. As an isolated location, Rapa Nui lacks sufficient specialists, which leads to people losing their teeth, developing diseases, and consequently worsening their quality of life. Furthermore, we have a significant elderly population, which increases the demand for care for this group. These courses will help me provide effective, timely, and ethical care. Something that is greatly needed today.
