Charles Love

Charles Matteson Love was a geologist and archaelogist and member of the Easter Island Foundation since its inception in 1989.  While a student at the University of Wyoming, Dr. Love’s mentor was William Mulloy, who had traveled with Thor Heyerdahl to Easter Island on the 1955 scientific expedition. Under Dr. Mulloy, Charlie developed an interest in Easter Island research.  He undertook extensive studies on the island and had a special interest in the moai roads and prehistory of Ahu Tongariki as well as other ahu. Dr. Love was a close friend of the Easter Island Foundation founder, Dr. Georgia Lee, and one of the original board members of the EIF. Before his retirement, he was a respected professor at Western Wyoming Community College.
