"I come from a family that contributes to sustainable development in the tourism, political, and cultural sectors. On Rapa Nui, Business Engineering is not just a business degree: it is a tool to protect our territory, organize growth, strengthen economic self-determination, and ensure that development remains consistent with the culture and values of my people.
I like it because ideas can become successful ventures, more organized institutions, and communities that move forward by using their resources more effectively. It is about turning an idea into action and seeing real impact in everyday life.
1. With the tools my degree provides, I can help a Rapa Nui foundation or cooperative organize its income and expenses, plan annual activities, and apply for funding, ensuring that resources are used well and that the project is sustainable over time.
2. In the tourism sector, I can analyze carrying capacity, for example: how many people can enter Rapa Nui, what the spending is, what it contributes, and how we can improve services, etc.
3. In local economic development with cultural identity, I can create business models that integrate cultural value and sustainability, for example: selling local handicrafts, creating a traditional cuisine route, etc. "
